API Developer

BCForward is currently seeking a highly motivated API Developer for an On-site opportunity in Pleasanton, CA

Role: API Developer (Java / Spring Boot)

Duration: 12+ months

Locations: Pleasanton, CA

Anticipated Start Date: 04/13/2026

Job Type: Contract – Onsite

We are looking for an experienced API Developer to design and build scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot. This role involves working on REST APIs, microservices, and cloud-based systems, along with leading technical decisions and guiding junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot
• Work on microservices architecture and system integrations
• Implement API security (OAuth2, JWT) and best practices
• Collaborate with teams to convert business needs into technical solutions
• Optimize performance and ensure reliability of APIs
• Work with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and external systems
• Support CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud deployments
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers
