AWS Python Developer - React

Interview Process: Ropes test required. The first-round interview must be conducted in person at the client office in Malvern, PA, or Charlotte, NC.

Preferred Background: Financial services experience, particularly in investments and equities.

Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced AWS, Python & React Developer to support QEG’s cloud-based quantitative research, signal generation, backtesting, data, and analytics platforms. These platforms support active, factor, and alternative strategy funds across front-, middle-, and back-office investment operations.

The developer will work within an Agile full-stack team, collaborating with business partners, product owners, architects, and platform teams to build and deploy secure, resilient, and observable cloud applications.

Required Experience

8+ years of hands-on Python development experience.

4+ years of hands-on AWS experience.

3+ years of hands-on React development experience.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain quantitative research and investment analytics applications using Python, AWS, and React.

Collaborate with business partners and product owners to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Build proofs of concept to validate patterns proposed by architecture and platform teams.

Deploy and support AWS applications in production.

Develop web applications, secure APIs, microservices, and data pipelines.

Apply modern software engineering practices to deliver secure, resilient, and observable code.

Participate in Agile development activities and collaborate with other developers.

Support cloud technology adoption by facilitating and participating in technical knowledge-sharing sessions.

Technical Qualifications

Python Development

Strong Python software development skills.

Experience with libraries and frameworks such as NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, Dash, Dask, Flask, and Boto3.

AWS Cloud & DevOps

Experience building and supporting AWS architectures and applications.

Hands-on experience with EC2, CloudWatch, ECS, SageMaker, Step Functions, and Lambda.

Experience with CI/CD and deployment tools such as Bamboo, Bitbucket, Artifactory, and Ansible.

Front-End Development

Experience developing web applications using React and Dash.

Knowledge of session management, Okta integration, and hosting applications on AWS.

Data Engineering & Databases

Experience with optimized data architecture and data pipelines.

Hands-on experience with AWS Glue ETL, Amazon S3, and PostgreSQL.

Familiarity with caching strategies.

APIs & Application Architecture

Experience designing and orchestrating microservices.

Knowledge of serverless architecture using AWS Lambda, SNS, and SQS.

Experience implementing API Gateway and designing secure APIs.

Preferred Qualifications

Financial services or investment domain experience.

Knowledge of equities and investment workflows.

Experience with Amazon Athena.
