• *About The Role**

We are seeking talented Backend Software Engineers to join Palantir’s product development team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, high-performance systems that underpin our core products. You will work across the entire product lifecycle—from ideation and prototyping to deployment and ongoing optimization. Collaboration is key, as you will partner with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand complex problems and craft innovative solutions. The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to foundational infrastructure that supports critical applications used by leading research scientists, aerospace engineers, intelligence analysts, and economic forecasters worldwide. • *Qualifications
• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or a related field
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, Rust, or similar
• Experience with distributed systems, data processing, and storage technologies
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and deployment tools
• Knowledge of open-source technologies like Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Spark, Kubernetes, and Flink
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Active US Security clearance or willingness to obtain one (preferred but not mandatory)
• *Responsibilities
• Develop and optimize a high-performance search and indexing ecosystem for complex, permissioned data
• Contribute to open-source data processing libraries, integrating the latest innovations for performance improvements
• Design and implement distributed systems that support large-scale compute workloads, orchestrating hundreds of thousands of containers efficiently
• Create robust architecture and APIs to streamline application development and improve developer experience
• Implement tracing and performance observability in high-scale microservice architectures to ensure system reliability
• Build scalable, reliable systems for storage, authentication, and asset serving to enable other teams to develop robust applications
• Automate deployment, management, and operations of complex distributed systems across various environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify system improvements and implement best practices
