CICS Systems Programmer

PLEASE NOTE:

This is a W2 position and is not eligible for C2C.

We are seeking a CICS Systems Programmer to support and maintain IBM CICS Transaction Server environments on z/OS. This role focuses on system infrastructure, performance, availability, and security — not application development.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain CICS Transaction Server environments.

Manage CICS regions, resource definitions, and startup procedures.

Monitor performance, tune systems, and ensure high availability.

Diagnose issues using dumps, traces, and system logs.

Support connectivity with MQ, DB2, TCP/IP, and web services.

Administer security using RACF (or equivalent).

Support upgrades, maintenance, and change management.

Required Qualifications

5+ years supporting IBM CICS Transaction Server on z/OS.

Strong z/OS systems programming knowledge.

Experience with CICSPlex SM and multi-region environments.

Proficiency with SMP/E, JCL, and performance tuning.

Experience with RACF or equivalent security tools.

Preferred

Experience with CICS upgrades and migrations.

Knowledge of MQ, DB2, and automation tools (REXX).

Familiarity with high-availability and disaster recovery.
