ByriderThe Cloud Full Stack Engineer develops, maintains, and helps modernize Byrider systems, products, and integrations with third-party and SaaS platforms. This role is part of a multi-year investment in modernizing our core Dealer Management platform, transitioning from a legacy SQL monolith to a cloud-native architecture built on AWS. This role provides the opportunity to deepen your understanding of cloud-native architecture and modern development practices.
Solutions built in this role directly support dealership operations, credit reporting, and financial data integrity.
Engineer collaborates with other Engineers, QA, and Product Advisors. The position reports to the Director of Solutions Engineering and receives technical direction and mentoring from Sr. Engineers. Business direction and requirements are provided by a Product Analyst or Business Stakeholder.
We are seeking a Cloud Full Stack Engineer in the early stages of their professional career who is eager to learn, take ownership, and grow alongside our modernization journey. You will collaborate closely with senior engineers who are committed to mentorship and technical development. This role offers hands-on experience across both front-end and cloud-based backend systems in a hybrid technology environment that includes legacy platforms and modern AWS-native services, providing meaningful exposure to real-world cloud modernization at scale.
Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable, production-ready solutions within our AWS-native modernization efforts while integrating with existing Byrider systems (full stack, heavy backend work and integration services)
Build and maintain solutions in a hybrid environment that includes legacy .NET systems and modern cloud-native services
Write production-quality code with clear documentation and test coverage in server-side languages primarily TypeScript and front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React)
Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CDK to automate infrastructure provisioning and management
Apply secure coding practices and adhere to security standards, including implementing IAM policies and network security measures
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, consultants and other developers, to define, design, and ship new features
Own the systems you build, including supporting production deployments, troubleshooting issues, participating in root cause analysis, and driving improvements to reliability and performance
Provide thoughtful estimates for user stories and work toward consistently meeting commitments
Seek feedback, participate in code reviews, and continuously improve your technical skills
Document solutions clearly through code comments, diagrams, and written technical documentation
Handle sensitive dealership and financial data responsibly and in accordance with company security policies
Demonstrated curiosity and initiative in learning new technologies and growing into increasing levels of ownership
Ability to take ownership of assigned work and follow through on commitments
Comfort working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
Attention to detail and a desire to produce reliable, well-tested solutions
Resilience and adaptability in a fast-moving modernization effort
1-3 years of professional software development experience
Experience building real-world applications using at least one modern programming language (TypeScript preferred)
Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway
Experience working with Infrastructure as Code tools such as CDK
AWS certifications (Associate level or higher)
Exposure to React or modern front-end frameworks
BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Technology-related certifications are a plus.
