DevSecOps Software Engineer

Requirements

Must have:

- We require a bachelors degree or equivalent.

• We require the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance after start.
• We require 2+ years of experience in the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, integration, and testing.
• We require 2+ years of experience in DevOps and/or DevSecOps.
• We require 2+ years of experience with test automation.
• We require experience working in CI/CD with code versioning, build automation, and test automation tools.
• Preferred: 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Preferred: For associate level, a relevant accredited degree and 2+ years of related experience, or a bachelors degree and 6+ years of directly related experience, or 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Preferred: For experienced level, a relevant accredited degree and 5+ years of related experience, or a bachelors degree and 9+ years of directly related experience, or 13+ years of relevant experience.
• Preferred: Active U.S. Secret security clearance.
• Preferred: Proficiency with the GitLab ecosystem.
• Preferred: Experience with Agile software development.
• Preferred: Experience with software containerization and container orchestration.
• Preferred: Experience in build automation.
• Preferred: Experience with Risk Management Framework security controls.
• Preferred: Familiarity with modern software development methods.
• Preferred: Proficiency with a range of software development languages, tools, and techniques.
• Preferred: Experience with configuration management and deployment.

Responsibilities:

- We lead the development, documentation, and maintenance of standardized DevSecOps processes, tools, methods, and performance metrics that support continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of mission-critical software.

• We drive automation, development, monitoring, improvement, and troubleshooting across development, tooling, testing, integration, deployment, configuration, and security controls.
• We collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and sustain robust, scalable, and secure software development pipelines.
• We lead the implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulations within our DevSecOps environment.
• We install and configure integrated software engineering environments based on the DevSecOps framework.
• We design automation workflows and support software build and release activities.
• We provide technical support for the program and help satisfy application security, IT, and customer security directives.
• We manage software dependencies, including evaluation, acquisition, licensing, integration, and maintenance of developer tools.
• We assist software teams and IT with database support and virtual environment setup.
• We support operating system, infrastructure, and platform hardening to protect systems from cybersecurity threats.
• We advise software engineering management and program leadership on process adherence and implementation strategies.
• We lead DevSecOps training to help teammates understand and apply DevSecOps tools and principles.
