Full Stack Developer for Data Transformations Services

Location: NASA (Langley), Hampton, VA

ADNET is seeking an energetic, and self motivated candidate for a full-time and long-term position as Full Stack Developer to support NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) data center operations. The support position is as part of the Research, Science, and Engineering Services (RSES) contract. Employment will be in Hybrid form in Hampton Roads VA, with a preference for on-site work.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and education. The ideal candidate will have experience with a variety of programming languages and technologies, as well as a strong understanding of databases and data transformation processes for earth sciences in the Atmospheric Science Data Center (ASDC). The successful candidate will serve on the Transformations Development team (TraDe), to help develop data transformation services for end-users, such as sub-setting data, data visualization, and file format transformations. Work is expected to be performed both on-premises servers in OCP4 located at the ASDC, as well as in the AWS cloud.

The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a development team. They should also have excellent communication skills and the ability to explain and document technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

The Full Stack Developer for Data Transformations Services will be responsible for:

Software migration from on-prem servers to the cloud

Front-end web development for on-prem services

Design and develop backend data transformation in-cloud services

Containerize code in Docker

Maintain and upgrade applications, including implementing security updates and code fixes for on-prem data interface

Work closely with other developers, UX designers, business and systems analysts

Maintain accurate documentation regarding software implementation and procedures

Work in a SAFe Agile Product Management environment

Collaborate and maintain code in code repositories and code management systems

Minimum Qualifications

BS or higher in Computer Science, engineering or equivalent physical sciences

Minimum 3 years experience as a full-time developer in the relevant languages

US Citizenship or Permanent Residency and ability to work on a Federal Facility
