Strong 3rd party application experience:
more importantly, Experience working on the backend to the vendor application portals
Professional experience working on integrations and configurations of third party applications/vendor tools
Full stack exposure, but heavily focused on the backend
Exposure to react and node
Ability to have one direct report
Experience gathering technical and non technical requirements
Has had one direct report before
Strong background in the support of applications used in the insurance domain
Maters in STEM related degree
Reporting to a senior technology leader, the Lead Software Engineer is responsible for shaping and delivering technical solutions across a portfolio of enterprise applications, including customer engagement platforms, communication systems, third-party tools, and cloud-hosted services.
This role provides technical direction, oversees engineering execution, and partners closely with development, quality, and business teams to ensure successful delivery throughout the full software development lifecycle.
You will work on Manage vendor-based platforms such as Zendesk (CRM), SmartCom (CCM), Axway (MFT), etc.
The position operates within an Application Services organization that supports a policy administration ecosystem along with other configurable enterprise platforms such as customer-facing systems, data integration services, and document processing solutions.
The ideal candidate is a clear and confident communicator who takes ownership of outcomes and consistently drives initiatives forward. They will work collaboratively with business partners, product leaders, engineers, testers, and release teams to deliver stable, scalable solutions. Responsibilities include diagnosing complex system issues, assessing the impact of proposed changes, and providing technical recommendations that support new feature rollouts and product releases.
This role requires prior experience in a technical leadership capacity or comparable senior IT position, along with strong hands-on technical expertise.
Experience with customer management, communication management, and secure file transfer tools is highly desirable. The position requires onsite work three days per week at a corporate office in Durham, North Carolina.
