Full Stack Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Design and build end-to-end web applications that turn complex biological, genomic, and surveillance data into practical, user-friendly tools.
• Develop robust backend services using Python and modern, responsive frontends with React and TypeScript.
• Use AI-powered coding tools such as GitHub Copilot and Cursor daily to write code faster and more effectively.
• Work closely with scientists, analysts, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
• Implement strong development practices including automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and high code quality standards.
• Contribute to system architecture decisions, improve existing codebases, and take full ownership of features from concept through production.
• Support live systems through monitoring, debugging, and occasional on-call responsibilities.

Job Qualifications

• 6–8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with a strong track record in full-stack development.
• Deep expertise in Python for building backend services and APIs.
• Strong experience developing interactive web applications using React and TypeScript.
• Comfort working with RESTful or GraphQL APIs and integrating frontend and backend systems.
• Practical experience using AI coding assistants (such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor) as part of your daily workflow.
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing strategies, version control, and deployment processes.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with non-technical stakeholders and handle ambiguous or changing requirements.
