Title: Full Stack Java Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid) - at least 2 days in office
Duration & Type: 8 Month Contract, will last the remainder of 2026

Chamberlain Advisors is currently seeking a Full Stack Java Developer for our direct client in the financial services industry. This is a 8 month contract-based position to start with expected extensions. The individual will engineer secure, scalable and reliable technology solutions, with minimal mentoring, to advance our client in the global marketplace and serve risk management needs of customers around the world. What You’ll Be Accountable For
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend applications using Core Java, with a strong focus on multithreading and performance optimization
- Write clean, modular, and production-ready code aligned with best practices and coding standards
- Develop application modules and corresponding unit tests with minimal supervision
- Contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of automated testing frameworks
- Execute system-wide and integration testing to ensure application stability and reliability
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues across the application stack
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support design decisions and deliver scalable solutions
- Utilize strong UNIX/Linux knowledge to support development, deployment, and troubleshooting activities
- Develop and execute automation test scripts using tools such as Cucumber
- Create, maintain, and review test artifacts, ensuring quality and consistency across deliverables
- Support and work within CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and Ansible
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development and testing processes
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred.
- 5 years of experience in software development.
- Strong Object-Oriented Design and Programming experience.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Deep understanding of Core Java.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle) and SQL.
- Proficiency with Jenkins and Chef.
- Skilled in UNIX/Linux and shell scripting.
- Automation testing with experience in Cucumber
- Experience working in the Continuous Integration environment using Jenkins, Ansible
- Google Cloud experience will be plus but not required
