About The Role The Full-Stack Developer at Guidehouse will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying scalable cloud-native applications primarily on the AWS platform. This position requires a highly skilled professional capable of working closely with clients, digital leaders, solutions architects, and cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects and strategic growth initiatives.
The developer will serve as a key member of the modernization team, tackling technical challenges by building innovative prototypes and solutions that leverage cloud architectures and modern software technologies. The role involves a combination of hands-on engineering, solution architecture, and collaborative development, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, secure, and operationally resilient software products. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of microservices, containerization, API design, and agile practices to meet functional and non-functional requirements effectively.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card holder.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent of four additional years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of six (6) years of experience in full-stack application development.
- At least three (3) years of experience with cloud application development, specifically on the AWS platform.
- Proficiency in frontend and backend development using languages and frameworks such as Python, JavaScript, Django, Vue.js, React, Svelte, or Angular (version 1.6 or higher).
- Hands-on experience with modern software technologies including containerization, microservices architecture, and API-First design patterns.
- Strong understanding of Agile and Scaled Agile methodologies, with proven experience in planning and delivering software products in an agile environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, mentoring team members and solving complex technical problems.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical solutions and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD "Public Trust" clearance; candidates with an active Public Trust or suitability are preferred.

Responsibilities
The Full-Stack Developer will be responsible for a wide array of technical and collaborative tasks, including:
- Working closely with clients, digital leaders, solutions architects, and cross-functional teams to support project delivery and strategic growth initiatives.
- Serving as a key contributor to the modernization team by supporting technical demos, building innovative prototypes, and developing scalable solutions on cloud architectures.
- Designing, developing, testing, and deploying secure, high-performance distributed systems using modern software frameworks and cloud-native technologies.
- Implementing frontend and backend services for cloud-native applications, utilizing Python, JavaScript, Django, Vue.js, or alternative frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, React, Svelte, or Angular.
- Collaborating with user experience designers, platform engineers, product owners, and business analysts to ensure solutions meet both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Developing and maintaining API integrations, microservices, and containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS, and related tools.
- Participating in agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure continuous delivery and improvement.
- Supporting solution architecture efforts, including contributing to proposals, white papers, and thought leadership initiatives.
- Ensuring all developed solutions adhere to security best practices, compliance standards, and the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
