Full Stack Software Engineer

ABOUT DELIGHT Delight is an AI-first customer orchestration platform built for the field service industry - the electricians, HVAC technicians, solar installers, and countless others who keep our communities running. These businesses are the backbone of the country, employing nearly 5% of the U.S. workforce (about 1 in 20 people), yet they often struggle with complicated front-office tools and lack the operational teams and resources of larger businesses. Delight helps them maximize revenue and deliver better customer experiences by providing modern, easy-to-use tools for marketing, automation, and customer engagement.

Delight is led by repeat founders with a track record of building and scaling impactful products. CEO Will Dinkel previously founded and sold an AI go-to-market startup, and CTO Charles Dudley was a tech lead on React, the open-source library that powers millions of apps and websites worldwide. ABOUT THIS ROLE We are hiring our first engineering hire, a Full Stack Engineer who will play a critical role in building Delight’s technical foundation and shaping the future of the company.

This is a unique opportunity to work closely with the founding team, take ownership of major systems, and directly impact both product direction and company culture. This role is open to both Intermediate and Senior engineers.

Responsibilities and ownership will be tailored to experience, with the opportunity to grow into a leadership role as the company scales.

Location: Austin, TX (3 days in-office per week) WHAT YOU’LL DO Scope, design, and build production-grade APIs, services, and user-facing applications across Python and TypeScript stacks Architect and deploy event-driven systems leveraging task queues, serverless runtimes, and modern infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices Containerize and orchestrate services using Docker on AWS Work with the founding team to define engineering best practices, processes, and long-term technical roadmap Partner closely with product and business stakeholders to deliver features quickly while ensuring scalability and maintainability Take ownership of projects from concept to deployment, including monitoring, debugging, and iteration Mentor future engineers and grow into a leadership role as we scale WHO YOU ARE Strong software engineering background with hands-on experience in both Python and TypeScript Proficiency with modern infrastructure and deployment practices: AWS, Docker, serverless computing, event-driven architectures, IaC Experience designing and maintaining distributed systems, queues, and asynchronous workloads Demonstrated success in 0→1 product environments or early-stage startups Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in ambiguity and take on broad responsibility Interest in building and mentoring teams, and readiness to evolve into a leadership role as the company grows WHY JOIN You will be the first engineering hire, with massive technical ownership and influence on product direction and culture Mentorship from founders with deep experience in AI, scaling, and product leadership Equity upside in a high-growth, revenue-positive company * Exposure to all layers of the stack and direct responsibility for scaling systems If you are motivated by building impactful products, want to work at the intersection of AI and small business, and are ready to take on a pivotal role in an early-stage startup, we want to hear from you.
