Job Summary An Internal Custom Solutions Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing custom software solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of Salt Lake Community College ( SLCC ).
You will work closely with Business Process Analysts, Project Managers, and departments to develop custom in-house solutions in support of the students, staff, faculty and administration of SLCC .
This role requires a deep understanding of software development. The ability to troubleshoot complex issues and take initiative without supervision is critical. SLCC is an in-person public facing institution. The requirements for collaboration and interaction in this role require a significant on campus presence of 80%.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of software development using object-oriented or procedural programming languages in an enterprise environment.
Ability to effectively collaborate with varied, cross-functional teams to implement and support business solutions.
Ability to work on a team.
Ability to create effective application documentation.
Experience with low code digital forms development.
Experience developing secure code.
Knowledge of and experience with cloud applications and architecture.
Experience as a technical lead in a software systems administration in a development environment.
Experience deploying software solutions in Windows and Linux environments.Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or technical school in a related field.
Four (4) years of full time paid direct experience leading programmer/analyst required.
Trade off 2:1 in experience/education requirement.
Experience developing, augmenting and maintaining systems in Higher Education using Ellucian solutions including Banner, Ethos, and Experience.
Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing web applications using the Microsoft .NET Framework.
Proficiency in building responsive, user-friendly web applications with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
