Java/C++ Software Engineer

Requirements

Must have:

- Active and transferable Top Secret security clearance required before the start date. - Must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for security clearance. - Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 2 years of relevant experience. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in object-oriented software design and development using Java or C++ in a Linux or UNIX environment. - Experience with unit testing tools, such as JUnit. - Proficient in Python. - Experience in an Agile/DevOps environment is essential.

Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated software applications for our Satellite Ground Systems. - Collaborate effectively with systems engineers, hardware designers, and other software engineers to create dependable and high-performance software solutions. - Design, implement, and test applications and software components using Java and Python for satellite ground systems. - Work concurrently with legacy platform teams to transition workloads onto your pipelines. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications. - Modify existing code as necessary to achieve desired outcomes. - Ensure software performance, reliability, and scalability. - Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and system integration tasks. - Contribute to achieving program and project milestones under the guidance of your immediate supervisor. - Adhere to established software processes, procedures, and documentation standards, including operations concepts and requirements at various levels.
