Role Overview In this contingent assignment, the Software Engineer will consult on and contribute to complex, large-scale Software Engineering initiatives. The role involves analyzing multifaceted engineering challenges, evaluating multiple variables, and helping resolve complex technical issues. The engineer will collaborate with internal client teams, contribute to solution design, and ensure compliance with engineering standards and organizational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in complex Software Engineering initiatives impacting large-scale systems.
  • Review and analyze multi-faceted engineering challenges requiring deep technical evaluation.
  • Provide expert-level consultation to resolve complex technical problems.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to meet engineering deliverables.
  • Develop backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Reactive Programming (WebFlux).
  • Build, enhance, and maintain Python-based backend components.
  • Design and maintain Kafka-based event-driven systems and develop Flink-based stream processing pipelines.
  • Work with both MongoDB (NoSQL) and Oracle (RDBMS) data stores.
  • Build and consume REST APIs according to enterprise standards.
  • *Required Qualifications
  • *Experience:
5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • *Technical Skills:
  • 4+ years of Java experience, including proficiency in Spring and Spring Boot.
  • 2+ years of experience with Python, focused on backend or data-driven development.
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka for event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with Flink for stream processing and data pipelines.
  • Database expertise in both MongoDB and Oracle.
  • Deep understanding of Reactive Programming (WebFlux, etc.).
  • 2+ years of experience building and consuming REST APIs.
  • *Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud technologies.
  • Exposure to Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic architecture, and prompt engineering concepts.
  • Familiarity with ADK, Playbook, or similar agent frameworks.
  • *Compensation & Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $69.54/hr - $74.00/hr. A comprehensive benefits package is available for eligible employees.
