Java Developer

Pay Range: $60.00hr - $65.00hr

Job Overview:

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Java Developer to join the development team. The successful candidate will have strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, and database technologies (SQL and/or NoSQL) and will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and fine-tuning scalable and efficient backend systems that support applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based backend services and APIs using Spring Boot.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices in accordance with deadlines.
• Develop and optimize database queries; work with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
• Debug and resolve application issues, performance bottlenecks, and bugs.
• Implement security and data protection measures in compliance with best practices.
• Ability to interact and work with customers remotely and in person as necessary.
• Collaborate with clients or internal teams to understand and resolve support tickets and incidents.
• Responsible for timely documentation of customer interactions and workflow.
• Comply with and support an Agile environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Java 11 and 17.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and the broader Spring ecosystem (Spring Data, Spring Security, etc.).
• Solid understanding of relational databases like Microsoft SQL Server and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
• Experience with RESTful API development.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, and software development principles.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Hibernate / JPA experience.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to diagnose application issues and provide technical support.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build tools (e.g., Jenkins, Maven, Gradle).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Knowledge of JMS/Messaging, XML, and REST/SOAP.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, a relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle from business systems analysis through requirements gathering and functional specification.
• Ability to troubleshoot code and make system changes as needed to resolve issues.
• Knowledge of computer development languages such as SQL, Java, J2EE, JSP, and XML.
• Ability to modify existing software to correct errors, adapt it to new hardware, upgrade interfaces, and improve performance.
• Ability to consult with engineering staff to evaluate interfaces between hardware and software.
• Ability to develop specifications and performance requirements and resolve customer problems.
• Ability to advise customers about or perform maintenance on software systems.
