SALARY: Up to $75/hr (equivalent to approximately $150k/year).

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Java Developer with 3+ years of professional experience in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java and a solid understanding of software development principles, databases, testing, and Agile methodologies.

Candidates with experience in the financial services or finance industry are highly preferred. Relevant backgrounds may include experience in banking, financial systems, investment management, fintech, or professional finance credentials such as CFA.

Qualifications

● Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

● 3+ years of professional software development experience.

● 3+ years of hands-on Java development experience.

● Strong proficiency in Java and core Java libraries.

● Experience developing and maintaining enterprise applications.

● Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles and software design patterns.

● Demonstrable experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.

● Proficiency in using Docker for containerization and environment management.

● Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.

● Experience with version control systems such as Git, GitHub, or GitLab.

● Experience with automated testing frameworks and unit testing.

● Experience with JUnit, Mockito, or similar testing and mocking frameworks is preferred.

● Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

● Understanding of application performance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and optimization techniques.

● Ability to identify and resolve application performance, security, and scalability issues.

● Experience creating and maintaining clear technical documentation.

● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

● Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

● Finance or financial services industry experience.

● Experience with banking, investment management, fintech, financial applications, or other financial systems.

● CFA or other relevant finance-related credentials/coursework.

● Experience with Angular and TypeScript is preferred but not required.

● Exposure to additional modern Java technologies and frameworks.
