Pay range: $75-$80

Position Summary:

The Java Developer role is a hybrid contract position based in New York, NY, focused on supporting the Trade Completion team within a global Trades Enrichment environment at a leading financial services organization. The role involves designing, developing, and enhancing applications that support trade processing, while collaborating with global business units, operations teams, and IT stakeholders to deliver scalable and efficient solutions.

This position requires strong proficiency in core Java, along with experience in cloud technologies, microservices architecture, and Big Data problem-solving. The developer will work with modern Java-based tools and frameworks to implement business-critical solutions, while also contributing to system design, performance optimization, and quality assurance through both automated and manual testing.

The role emphasizes technical expertise in multi-threaded programming, debugging, and design patterns, with additional exposure to technologies such as UNIX/Linux, relational databases (e.g., Sybase, DB2), and scripting languages like Perl and Shell. Strong communication, analytical thinking, and collaboration skills are essential, as the candidate will interact with global teams and senior stakeholders while contributing to a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Primary requirement is to be proficient java developer.

• Candidate should have knowledge of cloud technologies and should have experience in solving Big Data problems.
• Additional nice to haves are UNIX / Linux, experience with relational Databases such as Sybase and DB2/Linux, Java Spring, Perl, Shell Scripting, FIX, MQ, and XML/Soap.
• Candidate must possess excellent verbal.
• Written and presentation skills and be comfortable interacting with senior members of development team and with our partner users and stakeholders in the business areas.
• Candidate must also possess good problem-solving skills and the ability to think on their feet.- Strong core java- Hands on experience in cloud technologies and microservice architecture
• Working knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Perl/Shell)
• Knowledge of multi-threaded programming, Design Patterns
• Strong debugging skills
• Ensure quality control by performing both automated and manual testing on deliverables; including performance tuning & stress testing
• Team oriented and can work well within a global collaborative model- Be comfortable expressing your ideas in meetings, design sessions, etc.
• Good analytical and problem solving skills that are coupled with strong communication
• Self-sufficient and show ability to lead given the opportunity.
