Multiple Java Positions – Walmart (Hybrid | Sunnyvale, CA)

Hey Team,

Hope all is well. I currently have multiple Java positions open at Walmart, spanning multiple teams and experience levels.

Work Location

• Hybrid: 2 days per week onsite

• Location: Sunnyvale, CA

• Relocation: Welcome

Interview Process

• Initial Apex screening

• Most roles are one-and-done client interviews, depending on the team

Compensation

• Rate range: $65–$80/hour (W2)

• Do NOT submit candidates over $80/hour

• Rate determines interview difficulty and level:
  • Lower rate = easier interview

  • Higher rate = more challenging interview

Work Authorization

• Any work authorization is acceptable as long as the candidate can sit on W2

• No sponsorship

Candidate Preference (Priority Order)

1. FAANG, Magnificent Seven, MANGO

2. Technology companies (Oracle, Cisco, PayPal, etc.)

3. E-commerce companies (Chewy, Target, Neiman Marcus, etc.)

Longevity in roles is important.

Job Description

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years of experience with:
  • Java

  • Kafka

  • Spring

  • Web Services

Nice to Have

• NoSQL

• Retail experience

Technical Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Core Java, Kafka, design patterns, and concurrency concepts
  • Including partitioning and consistent hashing

• Hands-on experience with object-oriented design principles
  • Choosing between interfaces and abstract classes

• REST API design
  • Versioning and backward compatibility

• Deep understanding of Kafka's concurrency model

• Solid grasp of
  • CAP Theorem

  • Eventual consistency

  • Spring Boot annotations

  • Dependency Injection principles

  • Spring JPA
