Java Developer, Sr. - Remote

About the Role

Kforce is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join a remote team focused on developing and enhancing enterprise applications that support critical customer and business operations. This role will contribute to large-scale modernization initiatives designed to improve user experiences across business processes and platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development expertise, experience with cloud-native services, and a solid foundation in modern software engineering practices. You will design, build, and maintain scalable APIs and microservices while collaborating with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain backend applications and services using modern Java technologies.

• Design and implement scalable APIs, microservices, and cloud-based solutions.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver new features and enhancements.
• Support platform modernization, performance optimization, and system integration initiatives.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and software engineering best-practice initiatives.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools and emerging technologies to improve engineering productivity and software quality.
• Contribute to reliable, scalable, and high-performance enterprise software solutions.

Required Qualifications

* 5+ years of professional Java development experience.

• Recent experience with Java 21 or newer.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience using AI development tools.
• Strong backend development and software engineering skills.
• Experience developing scalable APIs and microservices.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with Claude or similar AI-powered development tools.

• Experience contributing to large-scale application modernization initiatives.
• Experience with cloud-native application development.
• Experience with performance optimization and system integration.
• Experience participating in architecture reviews and code review processes.
