About The Role The Test and Training Enabling Architecture (TENA) program at Leidos is seeking a skilled Java Web Application Developer to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining web applications that support the United States Department of Defense test and training communities.

The primary objective is to accelerate capability deployment to the warfighter by creating robust, secure, and scalable web solutions. The position offers the flexibility of remote work and is based in Alexandria, VA. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of engineers and developers to deliver full-stack web applications that meet operational requirements, ensure security compliance, and enhance system performance.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with an active Secret clearance or higher
• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience (experience may substitute for degree)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience developing, deploying, and maintaining full-stack web applications and software systems
• At least 2 years of experience in requirements gathering and validation for software applications
• Proficiency with web UI components including HTML, CSS, JavaScript (NodeJS), and Angular
• Experience designing and building RESTful web services
• Knowledge of Java EE/Jakarta EE integration, Servlets, and JDBC
• Experience working with PostgreSQL or equivalent SQL databases and writing complex queries
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles, Java Streams, Lambda expressions, Collections framework, and Exception handling

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with an existing team of web developers to deliver comprehensive full-stack web applications aligned with operational needs
• Document and validate detailed web application requirements to ensure clarity and completeness
• Develop automated testing frameworks and scripts in accordance with test plans to ensure software quality
• Provide architectural design support and technical guidance during the development process
• Participate in software design discussions, recommending appropriate tools, technologies, and methodologies
• Refactor and enhance existing web applications by adding new features, improving reliability, and optimizing performance
• Review and ensure web application security compliance by evaluating cybersecurity posture and implementing best practices
• Maintain documentation related to system design, development processes, and security protocols
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions into projects
