Position: Java Programmer

Location: Albany, NY (Hybrid)

Duration: Long-Term Contract

Schedule: Monday–Friday, flexible start between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM

Job Summary

Seeking an Expert Programmer to lead Java backend development and integrate REST APIs, MCP services, and AI-enabled applications with the NYS Department of Labor's Unemployment Insurance system. Responsibilities include API architecture, vendor coordination, security, data validation, GCP integration, performance testing, code reviews, and technical documentation.

Required Qualifications

• 8 years of Java backend development, microservices, and REST API architecture.

• 3 years of technical leadership or enterprise architecture.

• 2 years of AI integration, GCP cloud services, regulated environments, and data-integrity/API security controls.

• 1 year of MCP server, client, tool, or integration experience.

• Must meet at least 6 of the 7 listed qualifications.

• Must be authorized to work in the US and provide proof.
