Requirements
Must have:
- We require an active, transferable TS/SCI U.S. government security clearance before the start date, and U.S. citizenship is required to qualify for clearance eligibility.
- We typically look for a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics and at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- We require experience in object-oriented software design and development using Java in a Linux environment, along with unit testing tools such as JUnit.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with Python, Agile delivery, DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, and Jenkins, as well as JIRA, Git, BitBucket, and Gradle.
- A current Security+ certification is preferred.
- Familiarity with the Atlassian tool suite is preferred.
- Experience with satellite communications systems and protocols is strongly valued.
- Secure coding experience, especially in a defense or aerospace environment, is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
- We design, develop, and test Java-based software in a Linux, Agile, DevOps environment.
- We build and maintain advanced applications and software components for our Satellite Ground Systems.
- We collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers, and fellow software engineers to deliver dependable, high-performance solutions.
- We work with existing codebases, making updates and improvements as needed.
- We ensure software meets expectations for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- We take part in software design reviews, code reviews, and system integration efforts.
- We contribute to program and project milestones under the direction of our immediate supervisor.
- We follow established software processes and procedures, including documentation, maintenance, and management of operational concepts, requirements, interfaces, and related engineering artifacts.
- We stay current with advances in Java and satellite technology to support innovation.
