Javascript Software Engineer

Phoxygen engineering team is looking for experienced Javascript engineers customize and improve the Firefox OS Gaia layer. You’ll be assisting the teams that develop Firefox OS devices which are used by hundreds of thousand of people around the world.

Your role

Some specific details about the role :

• Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code

• Design, build and maintain high performance, reusable and reliable Javascript code

• Ensure the best possible performance, quality and responsiveness of the application

• Work closely with our project, design and business teams to develop and ship new features

• Identify and correct bottlenecks and bug fixing

• Conduct regular code and peer reviews to make sure the quality requirements are met

• Help maintain code quality, organisation and automatisation

• Monitor and participate in workflow tracking (Bugzilla)

About You

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or quivalent relevant work experience

• 3 years of professional software development experience

• Fluent in oral and written English. Speaking French is a advantage, but not mandatory. Mastering other languages is welcomed!

Technical Quality

• A portfolio of open source code on GitHub preferred
• A preference for writing clean and elegant test-driven code

• Ideally at least 1-2 years of Javascript development experience

• Proficient in the following technologies: Expert in Javascript language and not related to any frameworks

• Knowledge of WEB UI design principles, patterns and best practices

Personal quality

• Experience of working in teams that are run with ‘agile’ processes

• Passionate about technology and willing to develop expertise in any emerging field

• Quick to learn and fast to adapt to changing environments

• Versatile and eager to tackle new problems with a ‘can-do’ attitude

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

Our positions can either be:

• At one of our offices (Paris and Rouen, France), with a French permanent contract.

• Home based in France, with a French permanent contract.

• Home based in Euro countries. You would either be hired through an umbrella company in your country or as a full time contractor.
