Junior Java Developer

Requirements

Must have:

- We require a bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience.

• We need hands-on experience with Java programming and JavaScript.
• We look for familiarity with Java/J2EE, RESTful web services, MVC architecture, SQL, HTML, CSS, Ext JS, JUnit, and Java GUI libraries such as SWT and AWT.
• We expect experience working with Oracle SQL Developer to create advanced SQL queries and stored procedures.
• We need candidates who can use integration technologies such as EDI, JSON, XML, REST, and SOAP.
• We require the ability to communicate clearly with product teams and work with minimal supervision.
• We value a team-oriented mindset with a focus on code reviews, mentoring, and clear technical documentation.
• We prefer experience with Agile product management.
• We require U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• We require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and an acceptable background check.
• If applicable, we need the ability to access military installations and meet contract-specific clearance requirements.

Responsibilities:

- We design, develop, refactor, test, and maintain new features while improving our existing Java-based codebase.

• We build and support applications using Java/J2EE, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, CSS, Ext JS, JUnit, and Eclipse.
• We implement J2EE concepts, including RESTful web services and MVC patterns, using a variety of SDKs.
• We create complex SQL queries and stored procedures in Oracle SQL Developer.
• We troubleshoot and resolve system issues raised through JIRA tickets.
• We update and maintain requirement documents and related technical records.
• We work across integration frameworks such as EDI, JSON, XML, REST, and SOAP.
• We merge code across branches and manage version history using Git.
• We lead code reviews with attention to architecture, security, and long-term maintainability.
• We identify blockers, separate them from suggestions, explain technical concepts, and support the growth of our peers.
• We may perform additional duties as needed to support the team and the contract.

We are Arcticom, LLC, providing network and systems administration, enterprise architecture and resource planning, certification and accreditation, software design, programming, telecommunications and land mobile radio support, help desk services, and IT transformation solutions. This junior Java Developer role is based in Beavercreek, Ohio, with a salary range of $60,000 to $75,000.
