Junior Python Software Engineer – Web DataAbout the Role We are looking for a Junior Python Software Engineer to build and maintain source-specific web data integrations for real estate software.
You will work directly with the founder on production systems involving Python, APIs, HTML, data extraction, and structured property datasets. Your work will focus on clearly scoped source modules with established interfaces, acceptance criteria, and verification processes.
Fresh graduates and candidates with strong internships, freelance work, or personal projects are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain source-specific Python data integrations.
- Extract structured information from APIs, HTML, and JSON responses.
- Map source data into established property-data schemas.
- Implement pagination, input handling, and error recovery.
- Reproduce and resolve source-level technical issues.
- Write tests and perform local and cloud-based verification.
- Inspect saved records to verify completeness and correctness.
- Document implementation decisions and verification evidence.
- Use AI development tools responsibly while understanding and validating the resulting code.
- Follow established architecture, repository boundaries, and security practices.
Requirements
- Strong Python fundamentals.
- Basic understanding of HTTP, APIs, HTML, and JSON.
- Familiarity with Git and pull request workflows.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to data quality and output verification.
- Clear written and spoken English.
- Ability to learn independently and work effectively in a remote environment.
- A personal, university, internship or freelance project that you can explain in detail.
Nice to Have
- pytest or asynchronous Python
- Browser Developer Tools (especially the Network panel)
- FastAPI or Pydantic
- SQL and relational databases
- Docker or Linux
- Playwright or other browser automation tools
- Experience with data extraction, transformation, and storage
Position Details
- Remote, full-time
- Fully paid initial three-month contract
- Intended to transition into a long-term position upon successful completion of the initial period
