Requirements
Must have:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline, plus 7+ years of experience, or 10+ years of equivalent work experience.
- Hands-on experience building software with Java, SQL, HTML, CSS, Angular, Bootstrap, TypeScript, and Node.
- Strong background in Java 8+ and open-source frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, and JUnit.
- Solid grasp of object-oriented design, software architecture, test-driven development, and the full software development lifecycle.
- Experience with automated testing, build, and integration practices.
- Proven ability to lead development efforts using automation for continuous integration, deployment, and release management.
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and waterfall delivery approaches.
- Experience applying data-driven design principles, including integrations and APIs.
- Exposure to infrastructure automation tools such as GitLab.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a collaborative, team-focused environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with users at all levels, solve problems, adapt quickly, take initiative, and own outcomes.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and contribute positively.
- Financial services industry experience is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Work as part of our application development team to deliver custom software solutions for our highest-priority initiatives.
- Write clean, efficient Java code for a range of applications.
- Review peer code and provide constructive feedback.
- Support existing applications and projects by resolving incidents, issues, and service requests.
- Continuously improve our methods, processes, and technologies.
- Mentor and guide other developers in designing and building software solutions.
- Partner directly with business stakeholders to ensure requirements and quality are addressed throughout development.
- Collaborate with team members to keep solutions well communicated and properly documented.
- Serve as the technical lead on application development initiatives.
- Build a strong understanding of the product line assigned to us through close collaboration with business teams.
- Thoroughly unit test completed software to verify functionality and performance.
- Act as a subject matter expert across multiple technologies and application areas.
- Recommend patches and fixes for defective code.
- Provide analysis and support for vendor-developed applications.
- Ensure software design and development work is delivered consistently, on time, and within budget, with minimal rework.
- Understand internal controls and regulatory expectations relevant to the financial industry.
- Manage multiple development efforts simultaneously.
- Develop full-stack software solutions that address business problems.
- Use artificial intelligence to improve development efficiency and solution quality.
