Lead Developer - Remote

Pay: $85/hr

Process / Engagement Expectations

• 12-month staff augmentation engagement supporting the NextEra Energy Analytics team.
• Contract-to-hire mindset. We are looking for candidates that we would be excited to have join our team long term.
• Candidates should be comfortable working directly with business and technical stakeholders.
• Customer prioritizes both technical capability and leadership/communication skills.
• Candidates should expect a four-step evaluation process:
• Kyndryl technical panel interview
• Kyndryl VP interview
• Customer manager interview
• Customer technical lead interview (at customer discretion)
• Advancement is based on both technical depth and the ability to demonstrate leadership, engineering judgment, communication skills, and customer-facing presence.

Technical Must-Haves

• lead software developer with substantial hands-on coding experience
• full-stack experience (backend-heavy is acceptable; does not need to be an equal split)
• lead developer experience with responsibility for technical direction and mentoring developers
• some application architect or solution architect experience
• must still be actively coding and delivering software (not a dedicated architect)
• strong hands-on Python development experience in enterprise applications
• Vue.js preferred; React or similar modern JavaScript framework acceptable
• AWS and/or GCP experience
• API and microservices experience
• AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude, etc.)
• agentic AI, MCP, LangGraph, or RAG experience

Technical Nice-to-Haves

• experience with both AWS and GCP
• Terraform / infrastructure as code
• Kubernetes / containerization
• CI/CD and DevOps experience
• application modernization experience

Non-Technical Must-Haves

• engineering judgment and decision-making
• architecture ownership
• technical leadership and mentoring
• ability to explain technical tradeoffs
• strong communication skills
