Job description

We are seeking a Lead Full Stack Development Engineer to join our Technology & Operations team. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives in a collaborative, high-performance environment and is passionate about building scalable, secure, and innovative solutions to support global investment operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and backend services
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Lead architectural decisions and contribute to the technical roadmap
  • Ensure code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration
  • Optimize application performance and scalability
  • Mentor junior developers and promote best practices in software development
  • Integrate third-party APIs and internal systems securely and efficiently
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives

Requirements

  • 4+ years of working experience in software development
  • Expertise in Python Core and FastAPI
  • Skills in unit testing with Pytest or Jest
  • Knowledge of AWS Athena and SQL scripting
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills (B2+)

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL or React.js
  • Background in AWS services such as RDS, MWAA, ALB or EC2
  • Proficiency in Terraform or Docker
  • Capability to use CI/CD tools like GitActions or Git
  • Understanding of Agile, Scrum, Jira or Confluence

This posting includes a base salary range EPAM Canada would reasonably expect to pay the selected candidate. Individual compensation offers within the range are based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, training, the demand for the role, skillset, and overall business and local labour market considerations. Most candidates are hired at a salary within the range disclosed.

Salary range: CA$109,000 - CA$156,000. In addition, the details highlighted in this job posting above are a general description of all other expected benefits and compensation for the position.
