Lead Software Engineer, AI & Data

Requirements

Must have:

- 10+ years of experience in data engineering - Expertise in Looker (LookML) and/or Tableau, especially with their APIs for headless BI - Advanced SQL proficiency with extensive experience in Google BigQuery (optimization, partitioning, complex modeling, database tuning) - Hands-on experience with Gemini API and Vertex AI, with a strong grasp of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) - Proven competency in CI/CD practices, version control (Git), and reviewing deployment processes - Proficient in Python for developing robust APIs and integrating AI agents

Responsibilities:

- Architect and implement AI Agents using Gemini and Vertex AI to autonomously analyze BigQuery datasets - Serve as the main technical liaison between our curated data warehouse and end-users, creating API-driven solutions for data interaction - Develop tailored data applications that deliver insights directly into stakeholder workflows - Enhance our Looker/LookML and BigQuery environment to act as a reliable Source of Truth for large language models - Set up frameworks for managing prompts, RAG, and tool utilization in data-focused AI tasks - Exhibit expertise in design patterns and best practices to foster Data as Code standards across teams - Guide the transition of the BI team from traditional reporting to impactful Data Product Engineering
