Requirements
Must have:
- Formal software engineering training or certification, with 5+ years of applied experience - Proven hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational reliability - Strong expertise in system design, domain-driven design, and microservices - Experience guiding a monolith-to-microservices transformation for a high-throughput, always-on platform - Background in architecture patterns for scalability, high availability, performance, and disaster recovery - Practical experience with core Java, Python, Spring, and REST services - Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, service mesh, SQL and NoSQL databases, CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, version control tools such as Bitbucket and Git, and work management tools such as JIRA - Experience promoting and working in Agile delivery practices such as TDD and BDD - Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline such as cloud, AI, machine learning, or mobile - Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted development tools, with clear standards for validating outputs for accuracy, performance, and security - Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resilient, secure delivery practices - Ability to coach engineers on safe and compliant adoption of AI tools within development workflows
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and troubleshoot innovative software solutions beyond standard approaches - Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others - Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to strengthen application and system stability - Lead sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to evaluate architectural designs, technical capability, and fit within existing systems and information architecture - Drive communities of practice across software engineering to promote awareness and adoption of emerging technologies - Lead team adoption of enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes - Apply knowledge of SDLC tools, including approved AI-enabled development and automation capabilities, to increase the value delivered through automation
