Requirements
Must have:
- We require a bachelors degree with at least 5 years of professional experience, or an associates degree with at least 7 years of experience.
- We require an active Tier 3 Secret clearance or higher.
- We need strong expertise in object-oriented programming, Java, and Spring Boot.
- We need hands-on experience developing microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-native applications.
- We need practical experience with Kubernetes, Helm charts, and container orchestration in OpenShift or comparable platforms.
- We need experience designing, building, and operating solutions in AWS or other cloud environments.
- We need hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and enterprise messaging platforms such as IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
- We need experience with observability tools, including distributed tracing, structured logging, and metrics collection such as OpenTelemetry, Kibana, or the ELK stack.
- We need familiarity with GitOps workflows and tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, and ArgoCD.
- We need experience working in Agile environments, including Scrum and SAFe ceremonies.
- We need familiarity with Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
- We need the ability to produce clear technical documentation, including API documentation, architecture decisions, and implementation notes.
Responsibilities:
- We develop, build, and maintain general software applications and specialized utility programs.
- We design, implement, and support microservices within a cloud-native architecture.
- We operate and troubleshoot enterprise-scale production systems, resolving complex technical issues.
- We analyze user needs and translate them into resilient software solutions aligned with business and mission objectives.
- We design and optimize relational and NoSQL databases within application ecosystems.
- We participate in code reviews, pair programming, and mentoring of junior developers to strengthen engineering quality.
- We collaborate closely with DevOps, QA, Security, Product, and Architecture teams.
- We migrate legacy mainframe functionality into an AWS GovCloud environment.
- We move investigative search capabilities to Elasticsearch or similar technologies to improve performance and analysis.
- We build new microservices on OpenShift-based container platforms using scalable cloud-native practices.
- We implement full-stack components where needed, including UI integration layers with modern JavaScript frameworks.
- We support event-driven architectures and high-throughput data processing systems.
- We participate in a rotating on-call schedule and respond to critical support needs within required timeframes.
