The Role
- Design and build large-scale distributed systems, primarily focusing on backend applications.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Work with asynchronous, message-based systems, addressing concepts like idempotency and consumer lag.
- Implement and operate production applications on Microsoft Azure.
- Utilize containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues using telemetry data (logs, traces, metrics).
What You'll Need
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, specifically building backend applications.
- Strong recent production experience with Node.js and TypeScript, including asynchronous patterns.
- Deep understanding of microservice architecture and event-driven design.
- Expertise in NoSQL databases, considering partitioning and consistency tradeoffs.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Service Bus, and Cosmos DB.
- Proficiency in modern DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
