Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Developer with strong AWS and Python expertise to drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable cloud-based applications. Based in Atlanta, GA, this role will combine deep technical hands-on work with leadership responsibilities, guiding a team of developers while partnering with business stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

•Lead architecture, design, and development of applications using Python and AWS services

•Establish and enforce coding standards, development best practices, and design patterns

•Conduct code reviews and ensure high-quality, maintainable code

•Drive technical decisions and provide strategic direction for engineering initiatives

AWS Cloud Development

•Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions on AWS

•Work with AWS services such as:

oLambda, ECS, EKS oAPI Gateway oS3, DynamoDB, RDS, Aurora oCloudFormation / Terraform (IaC)

•Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost

Software Development

•Develop robust backend systems using Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django)

•Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices architectures

•Lead the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)

DevOps & Automation

•Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline)

•Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana)

•Collaborate closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams

Team Leadership

•Mentor and coach a team of developers in Atlanta and remote locations

•Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance management

•Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment

Stakeholder Engagement

•Work with product managers, architects, and business teams to define requirements

•Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions

•Provide status updates, risk assessments, and technical insights to leadership

Required Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)

•8+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years in a lead role

•Strong hands-on expertise in Python

•Extensive experience with AWS cloud platform

•Proven experience designing microservices and distributed systems

•Strong understanding of REST APIs, system design, and scalable architectures

•Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS preferred)

•Agile/Scrum experience
