About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer to join a prominent global bank's dynamic team in Rutherford, New Jersey. This is a contract position with a strong possibility of extension or conversion, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge financial technology projects. The role requires a hybrid work schedule, with 2-3 days onsite per week, facilitating collaboration and innovation. As a Python Developer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing scalable machine learning systems that support the bank's data-driven initiatives. You will work alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry, leveraging your expertise to solve complex problems and deliver innovative solutions that enhance the bank's operational efficiency and customer experience.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a PhD or master's degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. You should have over five years of industry experience as a data scientist, with a focus on machine learning modeling, ranking, recommendations, or personalization systems. Proven experience in designing and developing scalable, reliable machine learning systems for training, inference, monitoring, and iteration is essential. A strong background in ML/DL/LLM algorithms, model architectures, and training techniques is required. Proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark, PySpark, TensorFlow, or other analytical and model-building programming languages is necessary. Familiarity with tools and large language models (LLMs), as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, are key attributes for success in this role.
Experience with GenAI/LLMs projects, distributed data/computing tools like Hadoop, Hive, Spark, MySQL, and a background in financial services, risk management, or capital markets is highly desirable.
Responsibilities As a Python Developer, your primary responsibilities will include architecting, designing, and implementing robust Python-based solutions to support the bank's data science initiatives. You will lead global technology teams across different time zones, fostering a collaborative hybrid work environment.
Your role will involve driving object-oriented programming principles, mentoring team members in advanced Python coding techniques, and ensuring best practices in software development. Collaborating with management teams to integrate functions effectively, you will identify system enhancements and deploy new products and process improvements. You will resolve complex business and system problems through thorough evaluation and industry-standard practices. Ensuring application designs align with overall architecture blueprints, you will develop coding, testing, debugging, and implementation standards. Your in-depth understanding of business processes and infrastructure will enable you to develop innovative solutions and provide expert guidance to mid-level developers and analysts. Additionally, you will utilize shell scripting and Linux features, implement unit testing and test-driven development (TDD), and ensure high-quality, maintainable software delivery.
