Job Description: We are looking for a strong Python Developer with solid Java expertise to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend applications and services. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience in Python development, along with the ability to work effectively with Java-based applications and services. The role requires strong knowledge of backend engineering, REST APIs, microservices, databases, cloud environments, automated testing, and modern software development practices.

This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong coding, debugging, problem-solving, and system design capabilities. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications and services primarily using Python.
• Develop clean, maintainable, reusable, and production-quality Python code.
• Work with existing and new Java-based applications, APIs, and microservices.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices across Python and Java ecosystems.
• Develop Python applications using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, and/or Django.
• Work with Java frameworks such as Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
• Design solutions for high-volume and performance-sensitive applications.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or similar technologies.
• Develop efficient SQL queries and troubleshoot application/database performance issues.
• Implement asynchronous and event-driven processing using technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Develop unit, integration, and automated tests using frameworks such as PyTest, unittest, JUnit, and Mockito.
• Participate in application design, technical architecture, code reviews, debugging, and production support.
• Containerize and deploy applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and other developers in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
• Follow software engineering best practices related to code quality, security, scalability, performance, and observability.

Required Skills:

Python: Expert Level:

• Strong hands-on programming experience with Python
• Strong understanding of:
  • Object-Oriented Programming
  • Data structures and algorithms
  • Exception handling
  • Multithreading and multiprocessing
  • Async programming
  • Python packaging and dependency management
• Experience with FastAPI, Flask, and/or Django
• Strong experience developing REST APIs and backend services
• Hands-on experience with testing frameworks such as PyTest/unittest

Java: Strong Hands-on Experience:

• Strong programming experience with Java
• Good understanding of Core Java, OOP, Collections, Streams, Exception Handling, Multithreading, and Concurrency
• Experience with Spring Boot/Spring
• Experience developing or maintaining Java-based REST APIs and microservices
• Ability to debug, enhance, and integrate existing Java applications

Backend & Microservices:

• Strong understanding of microservices architecture
• REST API design and integration
• JSON and HTTP/HTTPS
• Authentication and authorization concepts such as OAuth 2.0 and JWT
• API error handling, logging, resilience, and performance optimization
• Experience with messaging/event-driven systems such as Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ is highly desirable

Database Skills:

• Strong SQL knowledge
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or similar relational databases
• Understanding of database design, indexing, transactions, and query optimization
• Exposure to MongoDB, Redis, or other NoSQL technologies is an advantage

Cloud & DevOps:

• Experience with one or more cloud platforms:
  • AWS
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Hands-on exposure to:
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Git
  • Jenkins / GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps
  • Cloud-native application deployment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline
• Strong experience developing enterprise-scale applications
• Experience migrating or modernizing Java applications/services into Python-based services would be an advantage
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP
• Knowledge of distributed systems and event-driven architecture
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
• Exposure to financial services, banking, insurance, or other large enterprise environments is a plus.
