About The Role The Junior Ruby on Rails Developer at Amphenol Borisch Technologies plays a vital role in developing new applications, enhancing existing systems, and integrating with legacy ERP platforms. This position requires a proactive individual who can write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
The developer will work under the guidance of the Business Systems Manager, Information Systems team, and IT Manager to create solutions that streamline operations, improve productivity, and support the company’s technological advancement. The role involves analyzing business requirements, designing scalable features, and ensuring the security and robustness of applications. Additionally, the developer will interface with legacy ERP systems to enable seamless functionality and data integration, contributing to the overall efficiency of manufacturing and business processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails development.
- At least 2 years of experience with Vue.js or similar front-end frameworks.
- Proficiency with version control tools such as Git, GitLab, or GitHub.
- Experience with test-driven development methodologies is a plus.
- Knowledge of Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and database management is preferred.
- Understanding of network concepts, operating systems, security protocols, and advanced network communication.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
- Strong teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and maintain clean, efficient, and scalable code for new and existing applications.
- Design and implement robust, secure, and scalable features aligned with business needs.
- Analyze business application requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Collaborate with legacy ERP developers to integrate and interface ERP functionalities into Ruby-based applications.
- Assist in drafting Statements of Work for application development projects, ensuring scope and deliverables are clear.
- Estimate project timelines, assess complexity, and communicate progress effectively during all project phases.
- Revise and update applications and documentation as needed to reflect changes and improvements.
- Document code, systems, and processes to facilitate maintenance and future development.
- Participate in testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Manager to support team objectives and company goals.
