Security Software Engineer - Cybersecurity Focus

Requirements

Must have:

- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related STEM field; or over 2 years of hands-on experience in security software development as an alternative to a degree - Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, GO, C#, or Rust - Experience in designing and implementing security solutions for operating systems, distributed systems, or large-scale enterprise infrastructure - Familiarity with secure coding standards and practices - Knowledge of Linux, Windows, and macOS system internals - Expertise in public key infrastructure (PKI) environments and associated technologies - Experience with authentication protocols like SAML, OIDC, and OAuth - Familiarity with specialized security hardware such as Trusted Platform Modules (TPMs) and Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) - Fundamental understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP stack and UDP protocols - Proven ability to navigate and analyze large, intricate systems - Experience developing web-based APIs, including HTTP-RPC and REST - Understanding of enterprise security measures and best practices across Windows, Linux, and macOS platforms - Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on quickly identifying root causes of issues - Knowledge of macOS and Windows code-signing practices and deploying enterprise applications - Willingness to work extended hours and/or weekends as necessary - Onsite work is mandatory; hybrid or remote options are not available

Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain technology solutions that ensure the security of SpaceXs systems, networks, and data - Implement authentication and identity solutions including multi-factor authentication and network access control - Automate identity lifecycle management processes; create and maintain scripts to support our information security mission - Manage network security systems and their underlying infrastructure - Establish application-level security controls such as web application firewalls - Enforce security policies for cloud deployments, ensure centralized configuration management, and monitor systems - Serve as a subject matter expert for security solutions, maintain thorough documentation, and provide guidance to teams - Collaborate with security and IT departments to detect and address threats and weaknesses - Transform feedback into enhancements that lead to safer software and application deployments - Create solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and secure - Work in close partnership with information security, physical security, IT, human resources, legal, and software teams
