Senior Full Stack Developer

Position Title: Senior Full-Stack Developer (Database-Focused)

Position Overview The Senior Full-Stack Developer will provide application support and development across platforms serving the hedge fund and private equity lifecycle. This includes onboarding, KYC, trade booking, money movement, and reporting solutions spanning both vendor-provided and internally developed systems.

The role emphasizes backend development (approximately 70–80%) with additional responsibility for front-end development using Angular (20–30%).

Primary Duties

Application Development & Architecture

• Write efficient, maintainable, and testable code across backend, database, and frontend components
• Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support
• Participate in architectural planning including microservices patterns, messaging design, and data strategy discussions

Database & Data Engineering

• Design and optimize relational and NoSQL schemas for OLTP and reporting use cases
• Develop advanced SQL and procedural logic including stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers
• Monitor and tune database and application performance
• Create supporting documentation such as ER diagrams, data flow diagrams, and technical design artifacts

Integration & Delivery

• Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices with well-defined data contracts
• Develop Angular-based UI components with focus on usability and performance
• Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end automated testing
• Support CI/CD pipelines, schema changes, and structured release processes
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance applications across the full technology stack

Current Project Work

• Ongoing Sybase to SQL Server migration initiative (experience is helpful but not required)

Qualifications & Experience

Professional Experience

• 5–7+ years of full-stack development experience
• Strong backend development experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST, and/or .NET
• Solid hands-on experience with Angular (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript)

Technical Expertise

• Advanced SQL development skills with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or comparable RDBMS platforms
• Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
• Strong data modeling skills (conceptual, logical, and physical design)
• Experience developing ETL/ELT workflows and data integration processes
• Familiarity with containerization and cloud platforms including Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or MQ
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing tools (JUnit, Cucumber, Liquibase)
• Knowledge of secure coding standards and data protection principles

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience
