Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Java Backend Engineer with prior experience at Capital One. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java-based microservices, event-driven systems, and cloud-native development. This role requires strong hands-on experience building scalable, high-performance backend systems in enterprise environments.
What You'll Work On
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
- Build and support microservices architectures and REST APIs.
- Develop event-driven solutions using Kafka and RabbitMQ.
- Work with PostgreSQL for data modeling, optimization, and performance tuning.
- Deploy and manage applications on Kubernetes using Helm.
- Manage builds and dependencies using Gradle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system design and architecture.
- Follow best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements.
What We're Looking For
- Strong proficiency in Java, Spring, and Spring Boot
- Hands-on experience with Kafka and/or RabbitMQ
- Solid experience with PostgreSQL
- Experience with Kubernetes and Helm
- Proficiency with Gradle
- Experience working in distributed and microservices environments
Mandatory:
Prior work experience with Capital One
Nice to Have :
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Experience with OpenShift (OCP).
- Knowledge of Liquibase.
- Familiarity with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
