Job Summary

Sr. Level Java Developer to support our customer, a major Federal Healthcare Insurance organization. The role involves new development, enhancements, production support/bug fixes, and system releases within the client’s internal platform.

Contract

12‑month contract with the possibility of conversion to FTE. No guarantee of conversion and sponsorships not permitted.

Responsibilities

• Perform new development, enhancements, production support, bug fixes, and system releases.
• Participate in the typical sprint and Scrum processes to support releases, enhancements, and troubleshooting.
• Work with Business Analysts and Testers to move code through the SDLC process and into production.
• Maintain the system, provide operational support for the 24/7 FEP Bridge platform, and handle troubleshooting.
• Occasionally attend onsite meetings in Columbia, MD (2x per month) and a final face‑to‑face interview required.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent: 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree).
• Minimum 8 years of hands‑on experience with Java (v21 preferred), Spring Boot, JMS.
• Basic AWS experience or concepts knowledge.
• Basic Kubernetes console understanding.
• Basic SQL querying abilities.
• Strong Oracle DB experience.
• Experience within a Healthcare Payor organization with knowledge of Healthcare Claims (X12 highly preferred).
• Wide breadth of Java open‑source technologies: Ant, Struts, Spring Boot, XML parser technology, SOA‑based infrastructure, jUnit, HTTPUn
