Senior Java Spring Boot API Developer

Requirements

Must have:

- Expertise in designing and implementing distributed systems, including event-driven and microservices architectures, ensuring optimal performance and reliability in large-scale environments - Strong Java and/or TypeScript development skills, with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns - Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, DropWizard, or TypeScript for building REST APIs - Extensive experience in Java REST API development, particularly with Spring Boot and related frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring MVC, etc.) - Familiarity with software development methodologies and Agile practices - Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS (S3, RDS, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, Lambda) - Knowledge of various databases, including RDS (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, Cassandra, etc.) - Understanding of container and serverless architectures (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Lambda, AWS ECS) - Proficient in Test Driven Development and Domain Driven Development, using automated testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito, Karma, Jasmine) - Experience with one or more Application Lifecycle Management tools (e.g., Jira) - Familiar with DevOps practices and test automation - Experience with Node.js/Express and JavaScript (ES5) - UI development experience, with some exposure to ReactJS or Angular frameworks - Proficiency in additional programming languages such as Go, Python - Experience in creating Unix/Linux scripts with bash, Perl, etc. - Proficient in designing and implementing Unix/Linux shell scripts to automate system tasks and processes

- Participate in identifying and developing the technologies, practices, and tools necessary for building the platform - Collaborate with various teams within the organization, adopt superior engineering practices, and share knowledge across other APS products - Mentor fellow team members and work closely with our offshore development team - Conduct presentations, engage in technical evaluations, and strive for engineering excellence - Create robust RESTful APIs and web services, adhering to best practices in performance, security, and usability - Utilize build automation tools like Maven/Gradle and version control systems like Git
