Senior Python / AWS Developer

Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Python Developer to design, build, and scale cloud-native applications, microservices, and system integrations. The candidate will collaborate closely with engineering teams on API architecture, cloud infrastructure, and automated workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance microservices and RESTful APIs using Python FastAPI.
• Deploy, manage, and optimize scalable application environments on AWS Cloud.
• Hands-on implementation of AWS services including ECS Fargate, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and RDS.
• Build containerized applications using Docker and support continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
• Work on backend system integrations and financial services architecture patterns.
• Leverage modern developer tooling and AI-assisted engineering workflows (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Windsurf).

Requirements

• Location & Relocation: Local candidates to McLean, VA or Richmond, VA are preferred. Non-local candidates must explicitly confirm their willingness to relocate prior to submission.
• Core Development: 5 years of software development experience focusing on Python.
• Framework Expertise: Production experience with FastAPI (or strong experience in Flask/Django transitioning to FastAPI).
• AWS Expertise: Proven experience building and deploying cloud microservices on AWS (ECS Fargate, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, RDS).
• Containerization: Proficiency with Docker.
• Integrations: Solid understanding of API design and enterprise backend integrations.
• Work Authorization: Must be eligible for direct W2 employment (, OPT, -EAD, or H-1B Transfer).
