Requirements
Must have:
- We are looking for a professional with 5+ years of software development experience.
- We need strong hands-on experience building backend systems or services with Python.
- We require deep experience working with Oracle databases.
- We expect advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, indexing, stored procedures, functions, packages, and performance tuning.
- Experience with relational database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or DB2 is needed.
- We are seeking someone who has developed, maintained, or supported database-driven applications or enterprise business systems.
- We need the ability to interpret complex business rules and convert them into dependable application logic, database logic, and data solutions.
- Experience with API development, backend services, integrations, and production support is required.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and problem-solving abilities are necessary.
- We need someone who can work independently, research issues, and deliver solutions with limited supervision.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders are required.
- Preferred: experience with Oracle PL/SQL.
- Preferred: exposure to SQL Server, DB2, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational database technologies.
- Preferred: background in financial systems, accounting systems, energy, oil and gas, or enterprise business applications.
- Preferred: experience supporting integrations between databases and applications or services.
- Preferred: experience with reporting, data validation, data reconciliation, or operational data support.
- Preferred: familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or GitHub Actions.
- Preferred: experience working with Agile teams and software development groups.
Responsibilities:
- We design, develop, maintain, and enhance backend services and application components using Python.
- We build and support RESTful APIs and service layers that deliver relational database data to application front ends.
- We work extensively with Oracle and other relational databases to support application logic, data access, and business workflows.
- We write, review, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, packages, and database scripts.
- We support database-driven applications by safeguarding data accuracy, performance, reliability, and availability.
- We analyze business and technical needs and translate them into backend services, database logic, and application solutions.
- We troubleshoot and resolve application and database issues, including performance bottlenecks, data inconsistencies, query optimization, and production support items.
- We assist with data modeling, schema design, indexing strategies, and database performance improvements.
- We collaborate with developers, business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders to deliver dependable technical solutions.
- We maintain code quality, documentation, and best practices for backend and database development.
