About the RoleWe're seeking experienced Software Engineers specialising in Autonomy and Perception to support the integration of advanced autonomy software onto real-world platforms.
This role focuses on deploying, adapting, and scaling autonomy capabilities for customer platforms operating in regulated and government environments. You'll work on mission-critical systems that bridge cutting-edge AI software with physical platforms, collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams.
Design, develop, and maintain autonomy and perception software using C++
Integrate autonomy software onto customer platforms (aerospace, defence, autonomous systems)
Work across the full software lifecycle:
development, testing, deployment, and integration
Collaborate with infrastructure and test teams to support CI/CD pipelines
Build scalable, reusable software components to reduce duplication across projects
Troubleshoot, optimise, and improve system performance
Work closely with systems, test, and platform engineering teams
Strong commercial experience developing in C++
Experience in autonomy, perception, robotics, computer vision, or AI-driven systems
Background in defence, aerospace, autonomous vehicles, or robotics environments
Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar development environments
Experience working with structured development processes (Jira or similar)
Comfortable working in a primarily on-site engineering environment
Strong problem-solving skills in complex, regulated systems
Experience with defence contractors or highly regulated programmes
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
Experience integrating software onto hardware platforms
Familiarity with classified or controlled environments (where applicable)
Work on cutting-edge autonomy technology deployed in real-world systems
