Senior Software Engineer, Design Software

Requirements

Must have:

- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a science-related field and 5+ years of professional software development experience; or a minimum of 7 years of software development experience in place of a degree - 3+ years of programming experience in C#.NET, Java, Python, or a comparable language - 3+ years of significant experience in developing full stack applications - Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes - Front-end expertise in Angular, React, or another JavaScript framework - Knowledge of database technologies such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar - Experience with in-stream data processing using technologies like Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or similar - Strong understanding of testing, continuous integration, build, deployment, and monitoring - Proficient in application performance profiling and enhancement - Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends based on launch schedules

Responsibilities:

- Design and implement reliable software solutions that will be utilized across SpaceX - Develop new applications that enhance operational efficiency at SpaceX - Create prototypes to validate critical design concepts and assess technical limitations - Manage all facets of software engineering and product development - Investigate user challenges to devise efficient solutions - Actively participate in team discussions regarding architecture, design, and code evaluations - Integrate electronic design software with manufacturing systems
