- We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development, or another related technical discipline.
We require at least 7 years of software development experience centered on simulation or game-based environments; candidates without a degree must bring 10 years of equivalent experience.
We require proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, Python, or Java.
We require hands-on experience with simulation platforms or engines such as AFSIM, NGTS, OneSAF, Unity, Unreal Engine, Simio, or Arena.
We prefer familiarity with version control systems and collaborative software development practices.
We prefer an understanding of modeling and simulation concepts in military or operational settings.
We prefer knowledge of mission engineering, wargaming, campaign analysis, or the Naval Capabilities Integration Process (NCIP), along with related military systems and processes.
We prefer experience with 3D graphics, physics engines, and database management systems such as SQL.
We prefer experience applying Agile or Scrum methods in simulation-focused projects.
We require a current, active TS/SCI security clearance.
We require the ability to occasionally perform manual labor and warehouse tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
We require the ability to remain stationary for roughly 50% of the workday.
We require the ability to move around the office as needed to access files, equipment, and other resources.
We require strong communication skills, including the ability to present information accurately to coworkers, management, and customers.
Responsibilities:
- We design, develop, and maintain simulation models and environments using a range of programming languages, tools, and data sources.
We integrate models and simulations into broader system architectures and support MCWL Wargaming Division efforts for interoperability testing and model orchestration.
We work closely with engineers, analysts, and operational subject matter experts to improve model fidelity and strengthen simulation accuracy.
We implement new capabilities, test and validate models, and resolve issues across evolving simulation platforms.
We lead and support planning, coordination, and documentation activities for simulation projects, including data collection, stakeholder alignment, and capability tracking.
