UNCOMN is seeking a Software Developer 2 (Associate-Level) to: Support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of software systems and solutions using Java and/or .NET under the guidance of senior developers
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement features, resolve issues, and deliver against defined requirements
Assist in building and maintaining backend services, APIs, and system integrations as needed
Write clean, readable, and well-documented code following established standards and best practices
Participate in code reviews to incorporate feedback and improve overall code quality
Help troubleshoot and debug technical issues, escalating more complex problems when appropriate
Work with databases to write queries and support data-related tasks
Contribute to testing efforts, including unit testing and supporting QA activities
Participate in Agile team activities such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
Support deployment and maintenance activities across development and test environments
Contingent upon contract award.
Requirements 2+ years of related professional experience required. Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance, granted by the US Government as needed, which requires US citizenship. The government also uses 13 adjudicative guidelines to determine an individual's eligibility. Proficiency in Java and/or .NET, coupled with an understanding of the SDLC, OOP, data structures, and core development concepts.
Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and excellent communication skills. Must be comfortable working onsite full-time at Naval Station Norfolk or at a designated partner facility within the Norfolk, Hampton, or Virginia Beach area, pending final site establishment.
Must be comfortable meeting DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF)/8140 requirements, obtaining professional certifications as required by the client/contract.
Preferred
Bachelor's of Science degree in a similar field/course of study and/or active professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+.
Active DoD security clearance.
Exposure to cloud platforms, front-end basics, and/or testing tools/frameworks. Why UNCOMN?
