About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with expertise in Scala and related technologies to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining FOX's proprietary solutions for automating user acquisition at scale.

Your responsibilities will include writing high-performance Scala code, transforming data into actionable insights through SQL, and deploying components within our Kubernetes-based infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in code and architecture reviews, and help evolve our software architecture to meet growing demands. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development, distributed systems, and a passion for innovative technology solutions in the ad tech, mar-tech, or growth tech domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive software development or engineering experience.
• Experience in building reliable production backend applications across the full software development lifecycle.
• Proficiency in writing high-quality, performant Scala code.
• Strong knowledge of Java Virtual Machine (JVM) and Scala.
• Experience with web-based applications using HTTP or gRPC.
• Understanding of concurrency, reactive systems, and the mobile ecosystem.
• Familiarity with SQL and noSQL databases.
• Experience with tools and frameworks such as Akka, Kubernetes, Linux, and Spark.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of ad tech, mar-tech, or growth tech domains is preferred.
• Any level of experience or knowledge in the specific skills listed is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain performant Scala code to support FOX’s proprietary solutions for automating user acquisition efforts at scale.
• Design and implement data surface layers to surface metrics and insights from proprietary systems.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to transform raw data into actionable insights for campaign optimization.
• Deploy software components within FOX’s Kubernetes-based infrastructure, ensuring stability and scalability.
• Participate in on-call rotations, promptly handling outages to maintain platform uptime and reliability.
• Collaborate with team members to evolve and improve the architecture of FOX’s proprietary solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend tools and frameworks within the Scala ecosystem that enhance system performance and maintainability.
• Conduct code and architecture reviews to ensure best practices and high-quality deliverables.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to backend development and ad tech.
