Software engineer - Java and Python

Requirements

Must have:

- Active TS/SCI Clearance with CI Poly - DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g. Security CE, GSEC, CCNA-Security, CySA , GICSP, CND, SSCP) - At least 5 years of hands-on experience working with Cisco routers and switches - Proficient in firewall deployment, configuration, and migration - Familiarity with virtualization and cloud platforms, including services, architectures, and industry best practices - Experience with DNS server configuration - Knowledge of VDI technologies (Citrix XenApp/VDA, MS RDS, VMware, etc.) - Strong understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, LAN/DMZ/WAN, DHCP, DNS, Routing, Switching, and Firewalls - Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Ansible, Bash, Perl, etc.) - Working experience with Linux operating systems

Responsibilities:

- Design and implement functional networks including LAN, VLAN, and WAN - Plan and lead projects for network installation and upgrades - Oversee all network data transport operations (Layer 3 and below) and manage overall network traffic routing - Manage and allocate IP address space, and track permanent assignments - Develop and execute network security measures (such as access authentication and STIG implementation) - Design, configure, deploy, and maintain firewalls - Monitor syslog events and make necessary adjustments to enhance security - Collaborate with systems administrators, cyber security officers, and CNDSP - Assist cyber security officers with data collection and reporting during RMF A&A processes - Conduct regular network performance assessments - Resolve escalated network support issues and maintain documentation of solutions - Research and assess new networking technologies and recommend upgrades to improve network performance - Serve as the primary point of contact for network and operating system issue resolution - Create standardized operating system images - Manage the installation, configuration, maintenance, and migration of computer and network operating systems in on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments - Implement and oversee solutions related to systems, networks, and host-based security infrastructure to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures - Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for local and remote system users
